Examples of Cyberethics:
The National Security Agency
There has been a recent concern regarding the National Security Agency. Its purpose is to protect the citizens of the country, but while doing so, it can be an invasion of privacy. Citizens are curious about whether or not the extent of the agency's collection of phone records, internet surveillance, and other means of monitoring is truly necessary. While lawmakers are trying to install the authorization of this type of work in private court orders, the FBI insists that the NSA has prevented many potentially harmful situations from occurring. Though the work of the NSA is supposed to be secretive, citizens still want to be aware of what the NSA is doing and how they are doing it (in reference to the monitoring they do), and there is a great amount of ambiguity and unanswered questions that citizens have been encountering. Are the actions of the NSA exceeding what is necessary and simply invading citizens' privacy?

3D Printers
3D printers have the capability to create a prototype of an object based on the design that is inputted. Such a technology can be useful for companies that develop designs. Rather than sending the design to a third party, the company itself would be able to print it with ease, requiring much less time than a third party would. In addition, less manual work would be necessary, which is not only a convenience, but also limits the amount of injuries involved in the creation of a prototype. However, this technology can also be used in a dangerous manner. For example, designs of harmful weapons can be created, and such a design could potentially lead to production of the weapons (if fallen into the hands of the wrong person). In addition, counterfeited products can be made and sold to people who are unaware of their artificiality.

Cyber-bullying in NY
A law has been passed by the New York State Senate, which expands upon the 2010 Dignity for All Students Act, to include cyberbullying, which is the act of bullying on the internet. If an issue of cyberbullying arises, school districts are obligated to intervene. Teachers and administration must also be trained in addressing and responding to such situations.
